I often like to provoke people with the idea that this life is all about preparing to live in heaven, which is also called eternal life. Though there are many things to consider when determining your purpose in this world, preparing yourself for eternal life should be a top motivation in your heart. Your forever home will be in heavenly places with the Lord, so with that in mind, you need to prepare yourself to live with a heavenly mindset, which is also called the mind of Christ. (This mindset will prepare you for heaven and make your life on earth a shadow of heavenly places, which is a good thing.)
Question 1
How do you prepare to live in heaven?
Answer
You need to learn how Jesus Christ thinks. Jesus lives in heaven and governs all heavenly places; getting close to Jesus and learning how He thinks will help you prepare for heaven.
Question 2
How do you get the mind of Christ?
Answer
When Jesus Christ calls you, follow Him closely and let Him teach you how He thinks by speaking His words to you. His words will teach you how to live in heavenly places. If you fill your heart with His words, you will fit right in with those who live in heaven
Explanation:
If you want to prepare for heaven, you don’t have to necessarily go there and see it right now, though you can if you are in the Spirit. But you can prepare yourself to live there by receiving the gospel message that everyone in heaven lives by. God gave Jesus the revelation of heaven and the authority to reveal those heavenly secrets to anyone who would believe and follow His teachings. Jesus is a spiritual person and will teach you all you need to know about living in the Spirit. If you want to prepare for heaven, Jesus must be your best friend and your most desired treasure.
What to do:
Learn the mindset of Jesus Christ. Just like in the parable of the sower, Jesus speaks His words, and you have the opportunity to receive His words in an honest heart. Once the fruit of His teachings begins to come forth in your life, you will see heaven forming in your heart and mind. As it is made known to you, continue in its truth until you reach the highest places of heaven.
